Literary journal West Branch (est. 1977), published three times annually by students and faculty of Bucknell University, is open for submissions (now until April 1, 2017).
G.C. Waldrep has returned as Editor. He and the staff welcome literary works of fiction, non-fiction (incl. essays), poetry, and translated material.
Word limits: under 30 pages of prose; no more than six poems per submission.
Payment for the print journal: $50/poem (previous rate was $40/poem); and 5 cents per word for prose, up to a max of $100/prose piece.
West Branch also publishes poetry reviews, which are assigned. These pay $200/review.
West Branch buys First Serial Rights. Authors retain rights after publication.
Reading period closes April 1, 2017.
