The editors of Cosmic Roots and Eldritch Shores (est. 2016) are inviting new writers to submit fiction and fact-based stories that explore our universe and its wild eldritch shores, through time, mind, and the cosmos.
The new literary market features a diverse range of stories and art–timeless or new, imagined or true, reflective or humorous–from writers and artists globally.
The publication has specific reading periods–very short ones. The remaining submission periods are: December 21-28, 2017.
Writers can submit:
- Sci-Fi: interstellar, space opera, steampunk, AU, cyber, etc.
- Fantasy: AU, epic, historical, urban, magical realism, and steampunk.
- Myths, legends, fairy tales: age-old original variations and present day reworkings, from all time periods and places of the world.
- Eldritch: transcendent encounters, beyond the livid, supernatural, spooky, weird mysteries of the night and the mind, shifting between the spaces.
The editors want stories that demonstrate the quality of the storytelling, characters, plot, and the writer’s creativity.
Suggested word length: up to 1K words for flash fiction; over 1K words for other stories. The editor prefers shorter pieces because this is a new literary market.
Payment: 6 cents/word (considered pro-rates for this genre).
