Uncanny Magazine Calls for Sci-Fi/Fantasy Prose and Poetry Submissions During Short Reading Period – Pays 8 cents/word

Uncanny Magazine (est. 2014), a recipient of the 2016 Hugo Award, has opened a short reading period to review sci-fi/fantasy stories and poetry from emerging and published writers.

Write for Uncanny MagazinePublished b-monthly, the online publication features sophisticated, speculative prose and poetry with virility and creativity that evoke bold emotions and force readers to question their beliefs and credence.

The editors invite emerging and established writers to submit original, unpublished experimental sci-fi stories, 750-6000 words (per story).

Poetry Editor Mimi Mondal would like to receive original, unpublished poetry, any length, that is speculative in nature. All writers, regardless of skill, background, or credentials, are encouraged to submit.

Payment: 8 cents/word for prose (considered above pro-rates for this genre); $30 per poem.
