Spirit’s Tincture magazine Calls for Speculative Fiction Stories and Poetry – Pays 6 cents/word

Fiction writers and poets are invited to submit their best work to Spirit’s Tincture (est. 2016), a quarterly magazine publishing speculative fiction stories and poetry.

All types of speculative fiction are welcomeThe editors are looking for amazing stories of the supernatural for issue #4. The theme is “resistance”–including themes of uprising, revolt, retaliating against injustice, etc.

Specifically, they want:

  • Poetry: up to 20 lines. Submit literary free verse or conventional poetry that introduces a new element to a well-known form.
  • Micro fiction: between 100 to 499 words. Submit tightly-woven prose hiding big surprises for readers.
  • Flash fiction: between 500 to 1000 words. Submit succinct but whole stories.

All types of speculative fiction are welcome as long as the work contains a strong element of sci-fi, fantasy, myth, fairy tale, or mythology and fits the issue’s main theme.

Payment: 6 cents/word (considered pro-rates for this genre); $10/poem.
