Writers are invited to submit original fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for the debut issue of Reckoning, an annual journal of creative writing on environmental justice.
The first issue, dubbed Winter Solstice, will be released in December.
The editor is looking for writers to share their deeply personal, innate understanding of the world and the people in it as a result of humankind’s relationship with the earth.
Fiction stories can contain a slight speculative element. Nonfiction should lean toward creative than journalistic. Poetry should be narrative and thematic.
Payment: 6 cents/word for prose; $20/page for poetry; $25+ per art piece.
Reading period closes November 1, 2016. Read contributor’s guidelines at Reckoning’s website.
