Rattle magazine (est. 1994) is publishing a special Spring 2018 tribute issue commemorating the literary works of immigrant poets. Writers, who no longer inhabit the country of their birth, are invited to submit poetry.
Immigration does not have to be the focus–the purpose of this issue is to revere and explore the variety of work that immigrant poets are creating. As such, the editors are open to all themes and poetic styles.
Payment: $100/poem if published in print; $50/poem if published online. (The editors also consider every submission for the annual Neil Postman Award for Metaphor, a $1,000 prize.)
Submissions will close October 15th, 2017. Learn how to submit at Rattle’s website.
Published quarterly in print and online, Rattle magazine publishes over 200 poems annually, most of which are submitted by unpublished, emerging poets. An issue usually contains over 100 pages of prose and poetry. The editors also accept unsolicited submissions year round for general issues. Alan Fox serves as editor-in-chief.
