FutureFire.net Publishing is looking for writers to submit prose and poetry to Problem Daughters, a forthcoming anthology of speculative prose and poetry that express the complex, characterful, intersectional attributes of feminism and feminists.
The editors are looking for breathtaking, museful, experimental poetry and stories in the speculative fiction genre, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, alternate history, slipstream, or the weird.
Because Problem Daughters will celebrate the full spectrum of the feminist movement worldwide, stories should explore and emulate the lives and experiences of marginalized women (of color, QUILTBAG, disabled, indigenous women, etc.) who feel underserved or neglected from mainstream feminism. Writers are encouraged to develop character-centered stories that submerge readers into the emotions and experiences of someone.
Length: up to 7500 words per fiction story; up to 60 lines per poem.
Payment: 6 cents/word for fiction (considered pro-rates for this genre); and $100 per poem. Authors retain copyright.
Deadline: March 31, 2017. Read submission guidelines at Futurefire.net.
