Pedestal Magazine Calls for Speculative Poetry for Dec. 2016 Issue – Pays $40/poem


Literary journal Pedestal Magazine has opened a 1-month reading period to solicit speculative poetry to appear in the December 2016 issue. Speculative means using elements of science fiction, fantasy, mythological, horror, science, surrealism, and experimental in your poetry. 

Bruce Boston and Marge Simon are serving as Guest Editors. Bruce has authored more than fifty books and chapbooks. Marge edits a column for the HWA Newsletter, “Blood & Spades: Poets of the Dark Side,” and serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees. They are open to any length, genre, and theme. Poets can submit up to three poems per submission.

Review back issues to familiarize yourself with what the editors look for.

Payment is $40 per poem.

Submit only original, unpublished material.

Each bi-monthly online issue features 15-20 pieces of poetry, fiction stories, and non-fiction essays from writers and poets around the world.
