Milkweed Editions, a nonprofit publisher of traditional and experimental literature, has opened a special reading period to curate poetry manuscripts from published and unpublished authors.
This year the imprint intends to find more stories that explore nature and the environment, a heartfelt sense of place, and/or the connections between human and natural communities.
The editors are open to single-author collections of poetry. Manuscripts must be no less than 60 pages long. Writers are asked to submit a query letter along with the complete collection.
Milkweed Editions publishes approx. 15-20 books each year, and currently has more than 350 titles in print. The company was established in 1980 and has a reputation of publishing trendsetting literary works by award-winning authors. Daniel Slager serves as Publisher and CEO.
Deadline: October 31, 2017 or sooner when the publisher has reached a submission quota.
