The Journal of Compressed Creative Arts has opened its reading period to accept submissions of concisely-written poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction.
The purpose of the Journal is to publish “compressed” literary works, namely flash fiction, micro fiction, verse and compressed poetry, and other neatly-packaged forms of expression.
- Fiction: up to 600 words
- Creative Non-Fiction: up to 600 words
- Poetry: up to 20 lines or 75 words
Randall Brown, publisher and editor, also encourages new writers to submit compressed writing for the Journal’s newest category called triptychs–a three-column piece of writing with the main story or poem in the middle enclosed by two columns of supportive information.
Payment: Matter Press, the publisher, pays $50/piece.
New works are published online each week.
Reading period closes March 15, 2017. Read updated submission guidelines at the publication’s Submittable page.
