Lightspeed magazine is Seeking Fantasy Stories for Future Issues – Pays 8 cents/word

Lightspeed magazine, an online science fiction and fantasy publication, is now reviewing fantasy stories, 1500-10K words (up to 5K words preferred), on diverse topics and genres in its niche. (Sci-fi story submissions are currently closed.)

A three-time Hugo Award finalist, Lightspeed has published both best-selling and emerging sci-fi/fantasy writers.

Editor John Joseph Adams, a best-selling and prolific sci-fi anthologist, launched the publication in 2010.

Each month the publication publishes four original fiction stories, four reprints, two staff-written interviews, and a collection of stunning artwork.

Payment: Writers are paid 8 cents/word for original, unpublished fiction (considered above pro-rates for this genre); or 2 cents per word for reprints.

Deadline: TBA. Writer’s guidelines are available at Lightspeed’s website.
