Special-interest publisher Lethe Press is accepting submissions for a new speculative fiction anthology (yet untitled) scheduled for publication in January 2018.
The publisher needs weird and creepy stories about people consumed by wealth. Each tale must permeate with the accoutrements of the affluent. Gluttony should be prevalent. However, the publisher does not want moralistic tales, but tales that revere people who can buy the most desirable things in life … they just happen to serve as leads in a modern-day horror story. The best stories will integrate status and wealth as both character traits and elements of the plot.
Word length: 4K-14K words per story. Although reprints are accepted, original stories are preferred.
Payment: 5 cents/word for original stories; 2 cents/word for reprints.
Deadline: December 31, 2017. Read the anthology’s submission guidelines.
Established in 2001 Lethe Press is an award-winning independent publisher of speculative fiction books and poetry. The anthology will be distributed as a hardback book, and perhaps a paperback, along with digital/audio editions.
