Latitude 46 Publishing (est. 2015) is accepting submissions for Up North for 150 Years, and more, a forthcoming anthology of creative nonfiction stories celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday.
The anthology will chronicle the growth of Northern Ontario since Confederation, as well as observe the many experiences that have shaped this diverse and multicultural region of Ontario–both the Anishinaabe who experienced the inpouring of immigrants and the newcomers who defined this province.
The editors especially want to hear from Indigenous writers who want to share their stories of colonization and resilience, as well as stories of immigration.
Word length: 3500-6K words per story. Submit original stories written in English or translated into English.
Payment: $150 per story.
Deadline: September 1, 2017. Submit your story at the publisher’s website.
Latitude 46 Publishing plans to publish Up North for 150 Years, and more in Spring 2018.
