Two anthologists are curating submissions from women (18 and older) for King Bey Bible, a forthcoming anthology praising the life, work, and art of Beyoncé.
How has Beyoncé positively influenced you? How has her music and life dared you to think differently about the world around you? What action or affirmation has she made that powerfully resounded with you?
Contributors are encouraged to submit reflective Beyoncé-inspired poetry and essays exploring life-changing issues of motherhood, music, feminism, sexuality, identity, etc.
The editors want discerning essays about any aspect of Beyoncé’s career and life, including issues of Black womanhood, sexual expression, entrepreneurship, her influence on girls and women, etc. If submitting poetry, the editors prefer free verse narratives, written in any style from a personal POV, that personifies the power of Beyoncé–obsessive as well as nurturing.
Word length: 700-2K words per essay; up to 1K words for poetry.
Payment: $125 per essay; $75 per poem.
Deadline: October 31, 2016. Learn how to submit at http://kingbeybible.com/
