Forest Avenue Press (est. 2012), a small literary fiction publisher, has opened a brief reading period to receive unagented novel submissions. The publisher likes stories ingrained with a fresh, elaborate, sometimes whimsical, and joyous approach to storytelling.
The publisher plans to release one to three literary novels in 2017/18 with an emphasis on realistic, modern fiction set in present-day. The publisher also wants to add more titles written by writers of color to its catalog.
Writers will need to submit the first 50 pages of their manuscript for consideration. All submissions must be original and unpublished.
Reading period ends March 1, 2016. Read how to submit here.
Forest Avenue Press is the recipient of the 2014 Oregon Literary Fellowship. Laura Stanfill serves as the founder and publisher.
