Fireside Fiction Company (est. 2012) has opened a one-week-only reading period (Sept. 17-23) to curate short fiction stories for future issues of its monthly publication Fireside magazine.
The editors welcome well-written stories in any fiction genre. Past issues have featured stories of sci-fi, horror, romance, western, fantasy, and other genres.
Fireside magazine showcases stories driven by strong storytelling, intricate plots and engaging characters.
Word length: between 1K and 4K words per story.
Payment: 12.5 cents/word (considered above pro-rates for this genre).
Rights: First World Serial Rights with a six-month exclusivity, and one-time non-exclusive Anthology Rights.

The editors will open another 7-day reading period starting November 5, 2017 to curate flash fiction stories.
