Beckett Media has updated its writers guidelines for COINage (est. 1964), a monthly magazine for the serious coin collector, investor, or hobbyist. Each issue contains stories about emerging and trending numismatic events, articles that educate newbies on coin collecting, alongside historical pieces about the people, places and activities connected with coinage.
The editors are most interested in new articles that put the past into context with the present. They also review articles about coin auctions and show coverage, currency, modern and proof coinage, precious metals and bullion, historic numismatic figures, and ancient, colonial and commemorative coins.
The average length for a feature story is now 2K words, instead of between 2K and 4K words. Word length may differ based on assignment. Writers can now query the editor via email at editor (AT) coinagemag.com.
(new) Payment: COINage pays $250 for a full-length feature article, of 2K or more words, plus 8 to 10 high-resolution photos with captions and credits. Shorter articles pay less, based on experience, topic, and content.
