The editors of Chicken Soup for the Soul (CSS) have issued a call for submissions to review true, heartfelt stories for a forthcoming anthology referred to as, “Love Stories.”
Writers are invited to share their personal experiences about how they found love–and how they embraced and kindled love throughout the years. Share your story or poem about new love, old love, and lasting love. (Note: this anthology is for adults, not teens.)
The editors are looking for themes along these lines:
- The magic of experiencing love
- Astonishing coincidences that resulted in you encountering your true love
- Dreams that came to life about finding your true love
- Unique dating experiences
- Senior dating
- Reconnecting with someone from your past
- Returning to the dating scene after a divorce or separation
Stories, written in first-person, can be funny, entertaining, serious or sincere; most importantly, stories must uplift and hearten readers to experience the contributor’s full range of emotions. Poetry that meets the same criteria is also welcome.
Word length: up to 1200 words. Poetry: open line count.
Payment: $200 per story or poem or $100 per devotional, plus 10 contributor’s copies. Authors retain the copyright to their stories.
Deadline: November 30, 2017. Full submission guidelines at chickensoup.com
