The Quebec Writers’ Federation is accepting submissions for its tri-annual literary journal, carte blanche (name is lowercase), now until the end of December. The reading period now opens twice (instead of once) a year for forthcoming issues being published in 2018.
The editorial board welcomes narrative forms of fiction and creative nonfiction, especially photo essays, memoirs, and literary writing.
Works of poetry are open to any style, including traditional, lyrical, free verse, and haiku.
Word length: up to 3500 words for prose; and an open line count for poetry. Writers can submit up to two stories or up to three poems per reading period.
Payment: pays a modest honorarium per piece, discussed between the writer and editor, for original, unpublished material.
Maria Schamis Turner serves as Editor-in-Chief. Read carte blanche’s guidelines before submitting.
