Carina Press (est. 2010), a digital-first imprint of Harlequin Enterprises, has posted a call to receive short erotic romances for a new series of “micro-romance” novellas.
Starting in September 2017, the new imprint–The Dirty Bits–will be publishing snappy-paced romance stories that provide a structured romance with unreserved sex scenes. Each novella will run between 10K and 17K words.
Authors are invited to submit erotic short stories in any of these genres: contemporary, paranormal, historical, science fiction or fantasy.
Because of the tight word count, writers don’t have to focus so much on character development, conflict or a lengthy plot. Instead, the editors are looking for manuscripts that: 1) deliver a fast story to help readers escape the stresses of everyday life for an hour or two; and 2) deliver a super sexy romance story with a happily-ever-after or a happily-for-now ending.
The editors are accepting full manuscripts only.
Authors can submit their manuscripts online at Carina Press’ website.
