Broken Pencil magazine is Accepting Spectacular Fiction Stories – Pays $100/story

Broken Pencil (est. 1995), a quarterly print magazine dedicated to alternative arts and indie culture, is currently open to new fiction stories.

The editors welcome tales of fiction that adhere to no precepts, no criteria, and no prejudgments. Submissions are open to all genres, styles, and themes.

Writers can peruse the Fiction section at to familiarize themselves with the type of stories the editors enjoy.

Word length: up to 3K words per story.

Payment: $100 per fiction story published in the magazine.

Deadline: open until further notice.

The editors begin to read new fiction submissions between March 1st and September 15th.
