Black Cat Mystery Magazine Calls for Short Mystery Fiction Stories – Pays up to $250/story

Black Cat Mystery Magazine, a new publication showcasing short mystery fiction written by emerging and established writers, is curating submissions for the next issue. The debut issue was released September 2017.

Write for Black Cat Mystery MagazineWriters may submit:

  • Contemporary and traditional mysteries
  • Thrillers and suspense stories
  • Private eye stories, cozy stories, and edgy, noir-tinged stories—all of which embody a crime of some kind.

The editors want well-written stories that feature characters who feel real and genuine, put in possible and plausible scenarios.

Word length: 1K-8K words/story.

Payment: 3 cents/word (up to a max. of $250/story), plus two contributor’s copies.

Deadline: December 15, 2017.

Wildside Press LLC, the publisher, plans to publish four quarterly issues in 2018.
