Apex Magazine Opens Submissions to Find Science Fiction Stories – Pays 6 cents/word

Award-winning sci-fi print and digital publication Apex Magazine (est. 2005) has an open reading period to curate new submissions for a limited time.

Apex publishes a new issue monthly of sci-fi prose and poetry, including horror and fantasy and a hybrid of the three. In addition to fiction, the editorial staff also publishes interviews and nonfiction narratives/essays. Unsolicited submissions are open only to fiction.

Word length: under 7500 words for fiction stories.

Payment: 6 cents/word (considered pro-rates), plus an additional 1 cent/word if Apex podcasts the writer’s story.

Jason Sizemore serves as Editor-in-Chief.
