Angry Robot Books Calls for Science Fiction & Fantasy Manuscripts

Angry Robot (est. 2009), an award-winning global book imprint devoted to publishing the best in contemporary adult science fiction, fantasy and everything inbetween, has opened a two-month submission period.

(Published by Angry Robot) – Lauren Beukes’ novel Zoo City won the Arthur C Clarke Award, the highest honour in British science fiction.

Both emerging and seasoned authors who do not have an agent are encouraged to submit a full-length (finished) manuscript for consideration.

The acquisition editors welcome stories that fit within the broad spectrum of science fiction and fantasy. This includes: alternate history, military SF, space opera, epic fantasy, steampunk, cyberpunk, dieselpunk, silkpunk, anypunk, grimdark, utopian fiction, modern fantasy, cli-fi, unclassifiable SF/fantasy mash-ups, and so on; however, they do NOT want horror, occult, or supernatural.

Angry Robot also strives to discover and publish fiction from a variety of ethnic, gender, sexuality and lifestyle perspectives.

Manuscript length: between 70K and 130K words.

Submit an original, unpublished, and unagented manuscript only.

Deadline: December 31, 2017.
