mojo (name is lowercase), an online literary journal published by Wichita State University and led by students of the school’s MFA program, has opened a five-week reading period to curate new prose and poetry.
The staff welcomes original and unpublished poetry, creative nonfiction, and fiction stories in a variety of writing styles that exhibit the talents and creativeness of writers.
The journal is published twice annually, fall and spring.
The editorial staff will also consider accepted submissions for publication in Mikrokosmos Literary Journal, the yearly print edition which the university has been publishing continually for 50 years.
Payment: $25/poem, $25/short fiction/non-fiction prose; $25/long-form prose (previous rate was $50.) If the editor accepts a piece for publication in Mikrokosmos, the writer receives an additional $75.
Nicole Byrne is the new Editor-in-Chief, replacing Kayla Haas.
Deadline: November 15, 2016. Read writer’s guidelines at mojo’s website.
